Horizon Snack Foods, founded in 1955 and acquired by Horizon in 1996, is the largest or second largest wholesaler (in units) of single serving, fruit filled, turnover style pies to the supermarket trade in the United States. The company also supplies freeze/thaw pies to school systems (under the Federal Government School Lunch Program), a number of mass market chains, food distributors, food brand managers and food service operators. Horizon Snack Foods manufactures and distributes fruit pies under the Cutie Pie and Home Run Pie brand names, and Horizon Snack Foods also manufactures and markets fruit pies under a number of private label brands for large customers. Current flavors offered include, but are not limited to, apple, cherry, berry, chocolate, lemon, peach, pineapple, vanilla and pumpkin (seasonal). Horizon Snack Foods is headquartered in Livermore, CA (San Francisco Bay Area) and its manufacturing plant is in Salt Lake City, Utah.
